Dream Big. Choose Peace. EPF Student Art Contest.

EPF invites students, ages 6-17, to submit Original Artwork with the theme of peace, safety, community, and/or nonviolence. Students will have an opportunity to envision ways to create safe communities free from gun violence.

GENERAL GUIDELINES: Students will submit their Original Art image as a photograph in JPEG format. The winning artists and photographs of original art will be featured in future e-newsletters of EPF Peace Out as well as church programs and bulletins.

Finalist Selection Criteria: Creativity, Composition, Message

Three Age Categories for Contestants:

  • Category l: 6 to 8 years old

  • Category II: 9 to 12 years old

  • Category III: 13 to 17 years old

Each applicant will submit one digital photograph of original artwork in one of the following media:

  • Drawing: pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, ink, pencil, marker

  • Painting: oil, acrylic, watercolor

  • Collage: must be 2-dimensional

  • Mixed Media: more than 2 mediums (ex. pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.)

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of all information on the form below, including an uploaded digital photograph of the original artwork.

  • Photographs may be taken with an iPhone or Android phone. (JPEG format and max of 5 MB are required.)

  • No scanned images will be eligible. Please use adequate natural lighting and a plain background

  • All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution.

  • An entry copied from an image created by someone other than the student will not be eligible.

  • Images of violence or weaponry will not be eligible.

  • Parental or guardian permission is required to apply and to release artwork for publication in church programs and/or Peace Out.

TIMELINE :

  • September 21 [International Day of Peace] — Artwork submission opens

  • November 24 Extended Artwork submission deadline

  • December 11 [National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence] — Selected entries the art contest will be announced.

  • January 19 & 20, 2025 [Martin Luther King Jr. Day] — Online exhibit of art selections is launched in church programs and begins monthly in the e-newsletter: Peace Out
