It’s About Children
*Host an Educational Event for the Community : BE SMART for Kids is a non-partisan educational tool that is incredibly easy to organize and host. Trainers are available around the country to lead workshops, answer questions, share resources and offer practical language for participants to use when talking to children about firearms and to fellow adults about safe storage within their homes.
Create a Visual Representation. How many American children have died by gun violence in the first six months of 2023? Offer a visual representation on your church grounds by placing a pair of empty shoes for every child killed by a firearm this year. Make it personal by inviting families in your congregation to contribute a pair of their children’s shoes for the public witness.
